Dominic Blue

Head of Strategic Planning & Delivery, MassMutual

Dominic Blue is Head of Strategic Planning and Delivery at MassMutual where he oversees governance, planning and execution of strategic initiatives designed to achieve long-term growth and profitability. Prior to joining MassMutual in August 2011 as head of corporate law, Dominic spent nearly 10 years practicing corporate law in Boston law firms. Dominic served on the board and the audit and finance committee of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) from 2013-18. In 2011, Dominic served as the president of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association. He also received the 2016 Founders’ Award from the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice for his work in helping MassMutual become a recognized leader in diversity. Dominic received his B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross, his J.D. and M.B.A. from Boston College.

Mo Cowan

Chief Legal and External Affairs Officer, Devoted Health, Inc.

U.S. Senator William “Mo" Cowan (retired) serves as Chief Legal and External Affairs Officer for Devoted Health, Inc. A member of Devoted’s executive leadership team, Mo is responsible for all legal, corporate governance, regulatory, and public affairs functions for this nextgeneration, tech-enabled, vertically integrated payor and provider of healthcare services. Prior to joining the Devoted team, Mo led global government affairs and policy, and global litigation for General Electric Co. Earlier in his career, Mo was a partner at the national law firm Mintz Levin and served as chief executive officer of Mintz Levin’s government relations consulting firm, ML Strategies, LLC. In 2013, Mo served as the interim U.S. Senator representing Massachusetts, after serving in key senior leadership roles – Chief Legal Counsel, Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor – in the administration of Governor Deval Patrick (MA). Mo serves on governance and advisory boards for a number of nationally recognized institutions including, the Massachusetts General Hospital, Duke University, Goldfinch Bio, Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, Eastern Bank Corporation, MassChallenge, and Mass General Brigham.

Pamela Everhart

SVP, Head of Regional Public Affairs & Community Relations, Fidelity Investments

Pamela oversees the firm’s state and local government relationships, public affairs and community relations activities at its Boston Headquarters and across Fidelity’s regions in the U.S. Previously, Pamela led the firm’s advocacy strategy and engagement with government officials in Washington, D.C. on federal regulatory policy matters. Pamela has also led Fidelity’s Personal Investing and Workplace Solutions business units’ external retirement and benefit policy development efforts. She has also held the position of Associate General Counsel at Fidelity. Prior to joining Fidelity, Pamela was an associate with the global law firm of Ropes & Gray LLP. She also practiced as a certified public accountant and senior tax manager with EY. Pamela received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School. She is admitted to practice law in MA and before the Supreme Court. As a leader in the community, Pamela is active in several community service organizations and sits on several not-for-profit boards.

Linda Dorcena Forry

VP of Diversity, Inclusion & Community Relations, Suffolk Construction

Linda is a former Massachusetts State Senator and State Representative. She served 13 years in elected office and worked over two decades in the public sector in various capacities in both state and local government. Linda leads the design and implementation of Suffolk’s national strategy to strengthen their diversity and inclusion platform and develop long-term strategies and tactics that support Suffolk’s vision. Linda helps reinforce Suffolk’s community engagement initiatives and works closely with Suffolk’s Trade Partner Diversity program which focuses on compliance and strengthening businesses owned by people of color, women and veterans. Linda is a graduate of Boston College Carroll School of Management, and also holds a Masters’ in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She lives in Dorchester with husband Bill Forry and their four children.

Paul Francisco

SVP, Chief Diversity Officer, State Street

Paul is the Chief Diversity Officer and Head of Workforce Development Programs at State Street Corporation. He leads the implementation of State Street’s global diversity, equity and inclusion strategies. Prior to joining State Street, Paul was a Managing Director and Co-Founder of Foster & Francisco, LLC, an executive search and diversity consulting firm. He has also held recruitment and Relationship Management positions at Bank of America, and Fidelity Investments, respectively. Paul is an active member of the community and is involved with a number of professional organizations. Most recently, Paul was appointed by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker to serve on the Black Advisory Board Commission. He has received many awards and recognition throughout his career, including a Certificate of Achievement from Governor Deval Patrick, for his work with the Hispanic Community. In 2007, Paul was named in Boston Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” and El Planeta Newspaper Powermeter’s “100 Most Influential Latinos in Massachusetts” in 2007, 2013, and 2014. Paul is a Boston University and UMASS-Boston graduate. He also graduated from The Partnership Inc. Associates, Fellows, and Next Generation Executive programs. Paul lives in Boston with his wife and two daughters.

Damon Hart

EVP, Deputy Chief Legal Officer, Liberty Mutual Group

Damon Hart serves as Liberty Mutual Group’s Executive Vice President and Deputy Chief Legal Officer.  In this role, Damon is responsible for the management of litigation brought against Liberty Mutual Group member Companies. Prior to taking on this role, Damon served as Senior VP and Deputy General Counsel for Employment, Compensation and Benefits. In that role, he operated as the company’s chief employment, compensation and benefits counsel for its 45,000 employees in 30 countries worldwide. Prior to joining Liberty, he was a partner at three national law firms: Littler Mendelson; Ogletree Deakins; and Holland & Knight. While in private practice, Damon focused on litigation and employment matters. He has strong experience in a variety of complex business disputes before federal, state and local administrative agencies, at arbitration and in state and federal court. Damon has experience with a variety of Class Action matters. In addition to his litigation work, he has also provided business advice on contracts, benefits, and real estate development matters. Damon is active in his community as a youth sports coach and mentor. He also serves on the Board of Directors for The Home For Little Wanderers. Damon is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross where he was a starting forward on the basketball team, appearing in the 1993 NCAA tournament. He also graduated from Boston College Law School.

Malia Lazu

Lecturer at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and Founder of The Urban Labs

Malia Lazu is a powerful culture creator and strategist whose instinct and clarity have changed cities, institutions, and organizations throughout the US and abroad. Malia has been using strategy and the connective tissue of community networks to build diversity in authentic ways and creating consistent impact. With over two decades of experience building diverse culture in the political and civic space, Malia felt private sector diversity and inclusion efforts were in need of disruption. While at MIT, Malia launched The Urban Labs, a space for diversity research and development. The Urban Labs has emerged as a boutique multicultural agency helping corporations and institutions to increase the effectiveness in their diversity and inclusion efforts. The passion and success of Malia’s work have earned her a reputation as one of the most insightful and critical culture creators of her generation and caught the attention of MTV, Showtime, ABC-TV, Fox News, and print publications such as Newsweek, The Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal and Boston Magazine. Most recently she has been named as one of the 50 founders to watch in Essence Magazine 2017. Over the last few years, Malia has experimented in attacking ongoing diversity problems, in the city of Boston in the startup space creating Accelerate Boston, a startup accelerator. Now in its sixth year, Accelerate Boston has helped 20+ minority businesses open and thrive and has led to 30+ minority entrepreneurs receiving investment capital. In addition to her extensive work building bridges and bringing people together, Malia has created campaigns for numerous tastemakers including Grammy Award-winner and famed Civil-Rights Activist Harry Belafonte, businessmen and philanthropists, George Soros and Peter Lewis. Malia currently sits on The Nation Magazine Editorial Board, Boston Society of Architects and the Black Economic Council of MA.

Fred Lowery

SVP, President Life Sciences and Laboratory Products, Thermo Fisher

Fred joined the company in 2005 as head of operations for the Molecular BioProducts business of Fisher Scientific International. When Fisher Scientific merged with Thermo Electron in 2006, Fred was named Vice President and General Manager of the Chromatography Consumables and Specialty Glass business. In 2010, he became Vice President and General Manager of the Life Science Research business, and in 2011 was named President, Laboratory Consumables. In 2014, Fred was named SVP and President, Laboratory Products, and in 2016 he also became Senior Operating Officer, Life Sciences Solutions. In 2017, he became President, Life Sciences Solutions and Laboratory Products, leading the BioProduction, Laboratory Products and Laboratory Chemicals businesses, as well as several functions within Life Sciences Solutions. Earlier in his career, Fred worked for Maytag Corporation and General Motors. Fred holds a Master’s degree in manufacturing management from Kettering University (formerly General Motors Institute of Engineering and Management) and a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tennessee Technological University. He serves on the board of directors for DuPont.

Stephanie Lovell

EVP, Chief Legal Officer, BCBS of Massachusetts

Stephanie is Executive Vice President, Medicare, and Chief Legal Officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, the largest private health plan in Massachusetts and one of the largest independent, not-for-profit Blue Cross Blue Shield plans in the country. The company serves nearly 3 million members and is rated among the nation’s best health plans for overall member satisfaction and quality. She has overall responsibility for Blue Cross’ Medicare program. She also leads the company’s law department and government and regulatory affairs function and provides strategic counsel to help ensure the company continues to meet key corporate goals – including making quality health care affordable for individuals, families and employers. Stephanie has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. She joined Blue Cross in December 2011 after more than four years at Boston Medical Center (BMC), where she served as SVP of administration and general counsel. At BMC, Lovell was responsible for legal affairs, strategic planning, compliance, human resources, and facilities. Prior to BMC, she served in the Office of the Attorney General for more than six years, including three years as first assistant attorney general and three years as the government bureau chief. Earlier in her career, Stephanie served as the executive director of the state ethics commission, and prior to that as assistant general counsel for litigation for the Boston School Committee. Her private sector experience includes serving as senior litigation associate at the former Fitch, Wiley, Richlin & Tourse, and the former Hill & Barlow. Stephanie currently serves on the investment committee of the Goodwill Industries of Massachusetts and is a member of the board of directors for The Partnership, Inc., chairing the board’s audit committee. She is a member of the board of directors and serves on the audit committee of Cyclerion Therapeutics, a publicly traded bio- pharmaceutical company located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She holds a Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Hamilton College.

Quincy Miller is President of Eastern Bank and its parent Eastern Bankshares, Inc. Eastern Bank is a full service commercial and retail bank with $14.0 billion in total assets and over 100 banking and insurance locations serving communities in eastern Massachusetts, southern and coastal New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Quincy spends his time focused on helping lead the overall strategic direction of Eastern, which has served its customers, colleagues and communities for over 200 years. Quincy is the former President of Citizens Bank, Massachusetts, and President of its Business Banking division. He started his career in consumer banking, where he developed his passion for “leading from the front line” ensuring that his perspective continues to be guided by colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Quincy is committed to supporting the communities where he lives and works with a focus on equity and youth. He is a founding member of The New Commonwealth Racial Equity & Social Justice Fund. He also serves on the Board of Directors for The Boys and Girls Club of Boston,  The Bottom Line, The Alliance for Business Leadership, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, NACD New England, and The Greater Boston YMCA Board of Overseers, Board Emeritus of The Greater Boston Food Bank and The Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts. He has been recognized in the community as an inaugural member of the GK100 “Most Influential People of Color in Boston” by Get Konnected, and early in his career by the Boston Business Journal as “40 Under 40” and more recently as a “Power 50 Most Influential and Impactful Leader in Boston.” In 2020, Quincy was honored at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast with the MLK 50th Anniversary Award for his commitment to Diversity & Inclusion that expresses Dr. King’s commitment to justice and equity. Quincy is a graduate of Lafayette College, where he earned a B.A. in Economics and Business, and of the Consumer Bankers Association’s Graduate School of Retail Bank Management.  Having graduated from the school early in his career, he is now proud to serve on the National Board of Directors for the Consumer Bankers Association. Myechia Minter-Jordan

President and CEO, CareQuest Institute for Oral Health

Dr. Minter-Jordan is President and CEO for the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health. She leads a diverse group of collaborators and health improvement experts to engage in original research and data analysis, grantmaking, health improvement initiatives, oral health innovation, education and advocacy all in pursuit of a single mission—to improve the oral health of all. She joined DentaQuest in 2019 after 12 years at the Roxbury, Mass.-based Dimock Center, which focuses on the integration of clinical and behavioral health and is the second largest health center in the Boston area. As CEO, she formed partnerships with world-class institutions, including Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Partners HealthCare to advance person-centered care. She was an attending physician and instructor at Johns Hopkins Medicine and graduated from Brown University School of Medicine and the Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business. 

Myechia is a founding member of the New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund created in the summer of 2020 by a coalition of Black and Brown executives in Massachusetts to make transformative social change by addressing systemic racism and racial inequity. She serves on several boards and committees including the Blue Shield of California, Yawkey Foundation, Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, The Boston Foundation, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

Valerie Mosley

CEO, Valmo Ventures

Valerie Mosley created Valmo Ventures to advise and invest in companies that add value both to investors and society. She currently serves on the board of Eaton Vance’s family of mutual funds, Dynex, a NYSE mortgage REIT, and Progress Investment Management Company, a privately held Fund of Funds. She serves on New York State’s Common Retirement Pension Fund Investment Advisory Committee and the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust’s Investment Risk Advisory Committee. Valerie was Senior Vice President, Partner, Portfolio Manager and Investment Strategist at Wellington Management Company, LLP, a $900 billion global money management firm. During her 20-year tenure at the firm, Valerie directly managed billions for clients. Valerie also chaired the firm’s Industry Strategy Group, comprised of thought leaders from across the firm charged with taking a long-term perspective to identify headwinds and tailwinds impacting industries. As a member of several investment strategy groups, Valerie helped establish investment parameters to which team portfolio managers adhered. Valerie began her career at Chase Manhattan Bank, where she was a Commercial Lending Officer for financial institutions (1982 – 1984). After graduate school, she worked in institutional corporate bond sales at Kidder Peabody (1986 – 1990). Prior to joining Wellington Management in 1992, she was Chief Investment Officer at P.G. Corbin Asset Management (1990 – 1992). Valerie is on the board of New Profit, a philanthropic venture firm and a founding member of the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay Tiffany Circle Society of Women Leaders. As part of her mission to help others grow their self-worth and net worth, Valerie created financial fluency courses for high school teachers and students, and speaks about the “Parallels of Managing Money and Life”. Valerie graduated in 1982 with a BA in History from Duke, where she served as President and Vice President of the student body. She received her MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1986 and served as President of The Wharton Club of Atlanta. Valerie was named UK’s Powerlist International Person of the Year 2017, and one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business and one of the Top 75 African Americans on Wall Street by Black Enterprise Magazine.

Rodney C. Pratt

VP, Chief Administrative Office Operations, Innovation, and Strategic Initiatives at NIKE, Inc.

Rodney is responsible for leading and managing the operations, innovation, and strategic initiatives of NIKE’s Chief Administrative Office, which is comprised of the legal, government & public affairs, social & community impact, security, investigations, and business continuity functions. Rodney also serves as a member of NIKE’s Black Community Commitment Task Force. From 2014 to 2020, Rodney served as the VP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Converse Inc., a NIKE subsidiary. Prior to joining Converse, he was an Assistant General Counsel at NIKE. In that role, Rodney served as a business and legal advisor to many of NIKE’s and its affiliate brands’ internal business teams on commercial, sales and competition related issues. While at NIKE, he also served as the Corporate Secretary of, and operated as the general counsel for, the NIKE Foundation. Rodney began his legal career as a corporate, finance, and M&A attorney with a major law firm in Washington, DC. Rodney currently serves on the Board of Directors of Massachusetts Eye & Ear, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School and home to the world’s largest vision and hearing research center. Rodney also serves as Co-Chair of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s Advisory Board. Rodney previously served on the Board of Directors of the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America and as Chairman of its Diversity and Workforce Development Committee. Rodney is a graduate of the College of William & Mary and received his law degree from the George Washington University Law School. While in law school, Rodney served as a White House Intern in the Office of the Chief of Staff under the Clinton Administration.

Desiree Ralls-Morrison

EVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, McDonald’s Corporation

As McDonald’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Desiree Ralls-Morrison oversees the company’s global legal operations, responsible for supporting the company’s strategies, anticipating and managing risk, and advancing McDonald’s brand and values. She also advises both the Board of Directors and CEO. Before joining McDonald’s, Desiree spent more than three  years as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Boston Scientific Corporation, where she provided global legal leadership across all of its businesses, regions and functions. Desiree grew and strengthened a high-performing legal team, effectively aligning legal objectives to meet business objectives, and served as a trusted advisor to the leadership team and Board of Directors. Prior to Boston Scientific Corporation, Desiree served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Boehringer Ingelheim USA, Inc., and General Counsel of the Consumer Group at Johnson & Johnson. She began her career in litigation roles at the law firms of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP and Shipman & Goodwin LLP. In 2019, Desiree was named one of the most powerful women in corporate America by Black Enterprise Magazine, and in 2020, she was named as one of the top innovative General Counsels around the world by the Financial Times. Desiree serves on the Board of Directors for DICK’S Sporting Goods, Inc. and as a Director for The Partnership, Inc., whose mission is to ensure the economic competitiveness of the Boston area by attracting, retaining and convening professionals of color. She earned her juris doctor from Harvard Law School and her Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science from Wesleyan University.

Rebekah Splaine Salwasser

EVP, Social Impact, Boston Red Sox & Executive Director, Red Sox Foundation

Bekah joined the Red Sox Foundation as the Executive Director in January of 2018. Earning a B.A. in Psychology from Brown University, she brings extensive experience in philanthropy and both professional and semi-professional sports. After four years working as Community Relations Director for the Boston Celtics, Bekah went on to lead Scholar Athletes as its Executive Director, a program that supports public high school athletes with both their athletic and academic achievements. Earlier in her career, Bekah served as a professional soccer player for the Boston Breakers and as Executive Director of the Charlestown Lacrosse and Learning Center.

Managing Director, Double Impact, Bain Capital

Mr. Shell joined Bain Capital Double Impact as a managing director in 2016. Prior to joining, Mr. Shell served as a Lead Portfolio Manager of a concentrated Global Equity product at GMO. Previously, Mr. Shell was a Senior Equity Analyst as Columbia Management Group and a Consultant at Bain & Company in its Strategy and Private Equity practice areas. Mr. Shell earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and received a Bachelor of Science from MIT.

Corey E. Thomas

CEO, Rapid7

Corey Thomas is the CEO of Rapid7, as well as Chairman of its board of directors. In 2018, he was elected to the Cyber Threat Alliance (CTA) board of directors and the Massachusetts Cybersecurity Strategy Council. He also serves on the board of directors for LPL Financial, as well as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, sitting on its audit and health care quality and affordability committees. He previously served on the U.S. Commerce Department's Digital Economy Board of Advisors. Corey has extensive experience leading technology companies to the next stage of growth and innovation. Prior to joining Rapid7, Corey was VP of marketing at Parallels, Inc., a virtualization technology company; group project manager of the Microsoft Server and Tools division, steering product planning for Microsoft’s data platform; and a consultant at Deloitte Consulting. Corey received a B.E. in electrical engineering and computer science from Vanderbilt University and a MBA from Harvard Business School.

BJ Trach, a partner in Latham’s Litigation & Trial Department and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, represents companies and individuals facing a variety of complex commercial matters, as well as white collar defense and government investigations. BJ has successfully defended organizations across a range of industries, including healthcare, life sciences, technology, and retail, against high-stakes claims brought by shareholders, customers, and community stakeholders. He also represents companies and individuals regarding criminal and civil investigations, brought by various government entities, such as the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and state attorneys general.

Damian W. Wilmot

SVP, Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated

Mr. Wilmot is responsible for leading Vertex Pharmaceuticals’ Global Compliance (the Office of Business Integrity & Ethics), Global Litigation, Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity organizations. Before taking on his current role in 2017, Mr. Wilmot was the chief litigation counsel and also served as the company’s interim head of Compliance and interim head of Human Resources. His previous professional experience includes serving as the chief litigation counsel for another global pharmaceutical company and as a litigation partner with Goodwin Procter LLP. Mr. Wilmot previously was an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Massachusetts and worked as a judicial law clerk on the State of Connecticut Supreme Court. He has served on the boards and advisory committees of numerous nonprofit, civic, and for-profit organizations, including the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission (by gubernatorial appointment), the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, HarborOne Bank and the Boys and Girls Club of Boston. In 2010, the Boston Business Journal recognized him as one of Boston’s outstanding business leaders under the age of 40. He has also been honored as one of Boston’s most influential people of color in healthcare and life sciences. Mr. Wilmot is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and Suffolk University Law School in Boston.

Jerry Cox, Principal, is an experienced, results-oriented Executive Coach, DEI and Organization Development Consultant with over thirty years of experience. He studied organizational behavior at the Harvard Business School and the Sloan School of Management at MIT. After receiving a PhD in Clinical Psychology and Organizational Behavior from Harvard University, he was a senior consultant in the Department of Leadership and Organization Development at the McBer/Hay Group, where he remained for five years before establishing his own consulting practice.

Juan Alexander Concepcion

Juan Alexander Concepción is an experienced litigator, counselor, and trainer in workplace compliance, risk assessment and strategic workforce management. He is Legal Counsel for Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX), where he leads and supports organizational objectives and priorities through collaborative partnerships providing practical business advice and risk management assessment in wide-ranging employment matters across BSC’s successful global business “advancing science for life™." Attorney Concepción previously served in-house at MassDOT/MBTA directing employment policy and compliance, employee relations and strategic business initiatives for the consolidated state transportation agency. He also served as in-house counsel and business advisor for a publicly traded, high tech firm (NASDAQ: LOCM) based in Irvine, CA, supporting HR professionals and managers across the business. As outside counsel at Nixon Peabody and Burns & Levinson, he advised and represented dozens of public and private employers of all sizes in highly-regulated industries, e.g., healthcare, energy, education, financial markets, technology, manufacturing, and transportation. Concepción is a long-serving director of Lawyers for Civil Rights (LCR-Boston), a legal engine for racial equity and social justice. In 2017, Juan was awarded the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorney's (MAHA) Leadership Award for outstanding leadership and excellence in the legal community. A rare “Quadruple Eagle” with four BC degrees (B.A., M.Ed., M.B.A., J.D.), Concepción serves with distinction on the University’s Board of Trustees and holds an appointment as adjunct faculty. He also serves as a trustee for St. Columbkille Partnership School (K-8) and for his alma mater—Cardinal Hayes (9-12)—in the Bronx, NY. Hayes recently awarded Juan its prestigious Cardinal Spellman Award for outstanding community service and excellence in the legal profession.
